Praia do Havaizinho

Rock, pools and clear water, next along from Engenhoca. The one people photograph on the four beach walk.

Havaizinho is the rocky one, and that is what makes it. Dark rock runs out into the water and holds pools at the right tide, which gives it a different character from the long sand beaches either side and makes it the one that ends up in everybody's photographs.

Tide matters here more than at most beaches on this coast. The same visit at high and low water is two different places, and the rock that makes it beautiful is also what makes it worth watching where you put your feet.
