Praia de Jeribucaçu

A river running out across the sand, forest on both sides, and a walk in that keeps most people away. One of the ones people remember.

Jeribucaçu is the beach people describe when they get home. A river comes out across the sand to meet the sea, forest closes in on both sides, and there is almost nothing built anywhere near it. The walk in through the forest is the reason it stays that way.

The river mouth shifts with the rain and the season, which changes the shape of the beach from one visit to the next. It is worth a whole morning rather than a stop on a longer walk, and it rewards starting early.

Take water, take shoes you can walk in, and check what the trails are doing after heavy rain. The practical side of a forest day is in waterfalls, river and forest.

Places appear here once we have been and checked them. That takes a visit, so this list grows slowly on purpose.
