Praia do Ribeira

The last of the beaches you can walk to, quieter than the rest, with the headland behind it and rock in the shallows.

Ribeira sits at the end of the walkable stretch, past Tiririca, with the headland rising behind it and rock scattered through the shallows. It is the town beach people forget to mention, which is most of what recommends it.

It is the one to use on a last morning when the bag is packed, because you can be there and back inside an hour, and it is the one to use on a busy weekend when everything closer to town has filled up.
